Mary Jette - Certified Veterinarian Technician

Mary Jette

Mary's interest in animals brought her to the Medical Institue of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN after graduating from Pacelli High School in Austin, MN. Once the first veterinary technician class started she knew that this was what she really wanted to do.

After completing the course she did a 3 month internship here at Quarry Hill Park Animal Hospital. Dr. Gary Noser then hired Mary as the first veterinary technician for the hospital. Mary says that even after all these years this is still what she really wants to do.

Other interests that Mary enjoys are spending time with friends and family, working in her flower garden, canoeing, outdoor concerts and snowmobiling-especially in the Ely, MN area. Her cats Stuart and Miles keep her entertained daily with their antics.

I always loved animals growing up but it wasn't until I worked at a veterinary clinic during high school that I decided to go to college to become a veterinary technician.. I graduated from Ridgewater college in 2000 and joined the Quarry Hill team shortly after.

My husband and I share our house with 4 cats and our tortoise Fern. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and kitty sitting and being outdoors.

I was born and raised in Rochester and I have had pets all my life. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to do something with animals. I started training service dogs when I was a freshman in high school. I went on to college at North Dakota State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 2001 and joined the Quarry Hill staff in May of 2001.

I love working with all animals and their owners on a daily basis. I have an interest in animal behavior and have started up puppy classes here at Quarry Hill. I enjoy watching all the puppies change and grow as they come into the clinic. My husband and I live in the country with our 2 kids and several animals. I love spending time with my family out in the country, going camping and horseback riding in my free time. I also enjoy showing and training my dogs in confirmation, obedience and agility.

April Holz

I was raised in a small town in Wisconsin and always knew I wanted to work with animals when I grew up. I graduated with a B.S. in biology from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 2006. I started working in a veterinary clinic after graduation and that's been my life and passion ever since! I love helping grow the bond people have with their pets through great care, learning new things in the veterinary world, and look forward to everyday never being the same. I joined Quarry Hill in August 2015 after moving to Minnesota with my husband and our two small dogs, Phoebe and Noah. Outside of my career and animals, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, thrift shopping, watching TV, cooking/baking, and DIY projects.
